Getting lots of back to school orders. Hard to believe it is already September 1! Does anyone else say "Rabbit" the morning of the first day of the month? To some it means good luck is coming. Whether or not, Labor Day certainly is. So are carpooling schedules, after-school programs, reading lists, trunks filled with backpacks and notebooks, cheerleading tryouts (actually those may have wrapped up by now), and marching band practices. When we take into consideration all busy moms and dads have to do it is no wonder our clients love us for thinking of them and making every piece machine washable. Can you imagine having to find the time to hand wash your child's clothing? Okay, maybe once in a while.
FOR MOM:
A series of photographs by William Shrout from a September, 1941 issue of Life Magazine.
Jane Amberg, housewife & mother, conferring with mechanic at gas station about the car she uses to chauffer her husband to & from his office & get the children back & forth to school.
Mrs. Amberg making one of the four beds she does daily after doing breakfast dishes & getting the kids to school, at home.
and...you guessed it Mrs. Amberg putting dinner on the kitchen table.
